Fred Goehring

Fred J. Goehring, 78 of Fremont passed away on January 13, 2024 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on November 27, 1945 to the late Frank and Helen (Hawn) Goehring.

On November 27, 1976, Fred married Hazel "Carol" Gill and shared 34 years together until her passing in 2011. 

Fred worked for the Lear Corporation as a machine operator, retiring in 2010. He had a love of racing and spent many evenings at the Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park. Fred also loved country music and collected many vinyl records and cds. His family will remember his love of NFL Football and the Ohio State Buckeyes. 

Left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Tom) Sterling, Roger Goehring, John (Becky) Goehring, James (Rhonda) Goehring, Michael Goehring, Annette Widman, Billie Jo (Jesse) Hernandez, Mary (Danny) Ickes, Stacy (Randy) Wurzel, Andrew Goehring, Robert Gill, Alan (Pam) Gill, Sharon (Terry) Norts, Kim (Walter) Foreman, Jim (Tonia) Bollenbacher, Lorilynn Balduf, Phil (Annette) Gill, and Jamie Castillo.

Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; parents, Frank and Helen; and siblings, Richard, William, Imogene, and Robert. 

Visitation for Fred will be held on Friday, January 19 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont with funeral services beginning at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde. 

Donations in Fred's name may be made to his family, in care of his nephew, Jim Bollenbacher.
