Eunice May Acker

December 11, 1933 — December 30, 2020

Eunice M. Acker, 87, passed away on December 30th at ProMedica Hospital in Fostoria, OH.

She was born on December 11, 1933 in Tiffin, OH, daughter of the late Bruce Lynch Sr. and Jesse (Barlekamp) Lynch.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Melvin B. “Jake”  Acker.  She was also preceded in death by siblings Art and Wayne Lynch, Anna Warner, Betty Feasel Smith and Pat Charleston.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah of Fremont, OH; a son, Ted Acker (Brenda) of Eugene, OR;   grandchildren Charles and April; seven great-grandchildren; a brother Bruce Lynch of Cridersville, OH; a sister Margret Fuston of Covington, KY; brothers and sisters-in-law Bert Lynch, Barb Lynch, James Acker (Rhea) of Claysburg, PA and Russ Wilt of McKee, PA; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

While focusing on raising a family, Eunice excelled in customer service while working as a Cafeteria Staff Member for Fremont Public Schools. She also worked as a Store Manager for Lawson’s and as a Clerk for Winke’s Market in Fremont. After retiring, Eunice and Melvin moved to East Freedom, PA and then to Daytona Beach, FL. They also travelled the country visiting relatives and family. She continued to be active, traveling with her husband to craft shows to sell scissors for their home-based business.

Eunice enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting cookbooks and glass items. She kept her mind sharp by completing puzzles, watching game shows and reading Danielle Steel novels.  She was known by friends and family for her delicious potato salad, pineapple rice and banana goop. She liked to cook and entertain for others.  She also looked forward to the occasional trips to the casino to try her luck at the slots.

Special thanks to the staff at Bethany Place Apartment Community in Fremont, ProMedica Hospital in Fremont and Fostoria and Clyde Hospice. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s choice.  A private service and burial will occur at a later date.
