Estella M. (Laderman) Roberts, 91 of Helena passed away in the afternoon of November 9, 2021, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving children.
She was born on May 11, 1930, in rural Gibsonburg to the late John and Andree (Kille) Laderman.
A 1948 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Estella went on to work as a dental assistant for Dr. Haldon Keiser and later worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company as an operator before retiring from Croghan Colonial Bank in 1994. On December 30, 1950, she married Norman Owen Roberts, and shared 58 years together before his passing on June 10, 2008.
After retiring, Estella enjoyed being a volunteer at the Sandusky County Food Pantry and Share and Care. She was also a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church of Fremont. She also enjoyed playing pinochle and square dancing with her husband in her earlier years.
Left to cherish Estella's memory are her children, Linda (Jeff Watkins) Roberts of Gibsonburg, Roy (Darlene) Roberts of Gibsonburg, Dorothy (Jerry) Downing of Green Springs, Jane Frederick of Fremont, Ann (Roy) Roth of Helena; daughter-in-law, Mary Roberts of Kenton; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Estella is preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents, John and Andree; son, Norman Jon Roberts; brother, Clarence (Olga) Laderman; sister, Helen (Bob) Bowe; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service for Estella will be held on Thursday, November 18, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1187 Co Rd 128, Fremont, OH 43420, beginning at 1:00PM with visitation from 11:30 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Washington Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Estella's name may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, or the Sandusky County Food Pantry.
