Doyle E. "Phil" Phillips, 88, of Clyde passed away at Gaymont Care Center, Norwalk on Saturday, October 1, 2022. He was born on November 10, 1933 in Risingsun to the late Wayne F. and Helen K. (Lawrence) Phillips. Doyle graduated from Risingsun in 1951. During high school and prior to his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he worked at Foodtown and Norm's Sunoco. Doyle retired from Ford Motor Company, after 50 years of service, in 2004. He was a past member of the Eagles. He liked fishing, bowling, and especially enjoyed working in the Pitts at the Fremont Speedway with Jimmy Ford. He will be remembered for his love of the Lord, and the love of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On April 12, 1955, he married Nancy A. Timmons at Burgoon United Methodist Church. They were married 53 years before she preceded him in death on May 11, 2008. Surviving are his children, Doyle W. (Kathy) Phillips of Clyde, Toby Phillips of Fremont and Valeria (Shawn) Carter of Clyde; Seven grandchildren; over 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Treva Betts and Emma Eddinger. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and siblings, Margaret Kiser, Vernon Phillips, Walter Phillips. Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 10:00-11:30am. Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
