Dorothy Marie Swedersky (Myers), 95, of Fremont, passed peacefully in her sleep and waltzed into the arms of her beloved Dale, on Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was born at home on June 3, 1929 in Clyde, Ohio, to Everett and Olive Myers. Dorothy graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1947, where she met the love of her life, Dale Swedersky. Dorothy & Dale were married on January 7, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church. Lifelong sweethearts, they were happily married for 61 years until his death in 2011.

As a teen, Dorothy worked at Montgomery Ward until her intelligence and talents were recognized by her high school teachers, and she began working at Fremont Ross High in the Administrative Office. After graduation, she became the Secretary and Clerk Custodian for High School Funds for the Ross High School. Her exceptional work on Title Nine accounting drew the attention of the State Auditor that eventually lead to her promotion in 1976 to School District Treasurer for Fremont City Schools Board of Education, making her one of the first female Treasurers in the State of Ohio. Combined, Dorothy worked for over 32 years for Fremont City Schools, assisting countless Fremont Ross graduates and making her a well-recognized citizen in Fremont and surrounding areas.

Dorothy and Dale were lifelong members of Faith Lutheran Church, where they were actively involved in church leadership, often sharing duties as Treasurer, as they did at home with their personal finances. Dorothy and her siblings were all known for their singing voices and were members of the church choir for decades. She was also a Sunday School Teacher and active in her Women's Circle & Bible studies, where she also held various leadership roles. Living their faith was central to Dorothy & Dale's life and sustained her through Dale's illness and passing.

During their retirement years, Dorothy and Dale enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states, wintering in Florida, playing golf, cards, Mahjong and enjoying many social activities with their close circle of friends. As a testament to her faith and commitment to serving her community, in her retirement, Dorothy was also a dedicated volunteer for 18 years at Lutheran Social Services and 10 years at Share & Care, both in Fremont.

Dorothy eventually moved to Elmwood of Fremont, where she passed. The family is eternally grateful for the care and friendship the Elmwood Community extended to her in her final years. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the ProMedica Cardiology team and NOMS Family Practice for their many decades of superlative care that allowed Dorothy to live a long and healthy life.

Dorothy always had a bright smile on her face, laughed often, was a friend to many and positively impacted so many people's lives. She will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are her daughters Karen Swedersky (Cincinnati) and Lisa Arrasmith (Swedersky) and husband Terry (Columbus, OH) step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, infant daughter Diane Marie, and siblings Vera Frederick, Vonda Myers, Raymond Myers, Wayne Myers, Geraldine Hirt and Ralph Myers.
