Click to Watch Dorothea’s Service Dorothea Lou Nason, 66, of Port Clinton, passed away on March 5, 2022. She was born on July 1, 1955, in Fremont to Christ and Catherine (Cooley) Laubacher. She was a 1974 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. Dorothea was a server at The Garden and later at 1812 Food & Spirits for many years until her retirement in February of 2018. On April 4, 1986, she married Charles Nason in Fremont, and they enjoyed 36 years of marriage until her passing.

 In her free time Dorothea loved being outdoors tending the flowers in her garden, fishing and traveling, especially to the Amish Country. Dorothea also loved spending time with and facetiming her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of The Chapel in Port Clinton.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles Nason, step- children, Douglas (Leigh Ann) Nason of Fremont, Melissa (Nel) Portales of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Amber (Kelsey) Portales, Brandon Portales (Megan), Paige Portales, Cheyenne (Craig) Smith, Tyler Waggoner Nason, Enrique Portales (Sydney), great-grandchildren, Alaina, Weston, Kaiser, Zander, Cora Mae; siblings, Christine (Paul) Harris of Honaker, VA, Gail (Earl) Smith of Tomahawk, WI, Karen Hall of Fremont. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Laubacher.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with funeral services beginning at 11:30 am at The Chapel, 4650 E. Port Clinton Eastern Road, Port Clinton, Ohio, 43452. Pastor Ryan Morter will officiate. For those unable to attend, livestreaming will be available on Dorothea’s obituary page by following the link provided.

Burial will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Chapel in Port Clinton.
