Donna J. Cole

Donna Jean Cole, 90, of Fremont went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of December 31, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on April 16, 1930 to the late Fred and Gertrude (Leggitt) Ross.  On September 11, 1959, Donna married Kenneth Cole, sharing 59 years together in marriage before his passing in 2019. 

Donna was a loving and devoted wife and mother to their blended family of four children.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her husband Ken, going to garage sales, and trips to the casino.  There was always a smiling welcome, a pot of coffee and conversation around the kitchen table.  The cookie jar was always full along with a hot meal ready to serve.  Feeding her family and friends was one of Donna’s greatest joys. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sherry Walden, Dennis Rexroth, Becky (Phil Sr.) Gatt and Cathy Cole (Denny) Connors.  She also leaves four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.  Sadly, two grandsons preceded her in death: Tony Lanning and Phil (“Peno”) Gatt, Jr. as well as a great-grandson, Zach Lanning. 

A celebration of Donna’s life will be announced and held at a later date.  Memorial donations in Donna’s name may be made to the donor’s choice. 

Donna’s family would like to give their sincere thanks to her caregiver, Amy Gnieser.  She cared for Donna as if it was her own grandma.
