Donald Stacey

Donald R. Stacey, 73, of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on April 21, 1946 in Grundy, VA to William and Nellie (Wolford) Stacey.

On July 29, 1971, Donald married Sharlene Riddle Helblig. Together, they celebrated 41 years of marriage until her passing on February 2, 2013.  He loved his wife and family and was a devoted Christian and enjoyed going to his church, The New Life Community Church in Fremont. It is without doubt he is now with his Lord.

Donald is survived by his daughters, Katrina Stell and Lisa Smith; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings Herman, Tracey & Jimmy Stacey, Paige Shouse and Martha Dotson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharlene; son Ryan Helblig; son-in-law Paul ‘Deacon” Frazier; and siblings, Walter Sheets, Vivian Lucas, Carl and Thurman Stacey, Juanita Frye and infant brother, Elliot.

Per Donald’s wishes, his body was cremated.  Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, 11 a.m., at his grave in Green Springs Cemetery. Rev. Dan Ritter will officiate.  Memorial donations may be made to the family care of Katrina Stell.  The Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont, had the privilege of working with Donald’s family.
