Diane M. Schwochow, 68 of Fremont passed away on January 2, 2024, at ProMedica Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 21, 1955, in Fremont to the late Leland and Marjorie (Waugh) Schwochow.
A 1973 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, Diane went on to attend Terra Technical College and graduated with an associates degree in 1975.
Diane began her career working for Croghan Colonial Bank and worked in the computer department for 25 years. She then worked for Community Health Services, Physician's Choice, and K&K out of Sandusky until her most recent position as a receptionist and transportation coordinator at Spring Creek Nursing Home in Green Springs.
Diane participated in 4-H as well as the Fremont Ross High School marching and symphonic bands in her youth.
She was a very faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fremont, where she was active in the Luther League, was a Sunday School teacher, the President of the Women of the Church, a member of Church Council, a Church Elder, sang in the church choir, and assisted with Abigail's Circle, the Luther Lunch Bunch, and the Griefshare Team. She was also the secretary/treasurer of the Sandusky and Ottawa Counties Church Dart-ball League.
Diane was proud to be the chairperson of the Fremont Ross Class of 1973 Reunions, and a member of the Sandusky County Republican Committee.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Linda (Mike) Shields of Waterville, Loren (Tawni) Schwochow of Fremont, and Randy (Diana) Schwochow of Westlake; nieces and nephews, Jordan (Kerry) Schwochow, Ashleigh (husband, Michael Giustiniani) Schwochow, Kevin (Lori) Shields, Jeremy Schwochow, and Nicholas Schwochow; and great nieces and nephews, Jack Hirschauer, Allison Schwochow, Abigail Schwochow, Scarlet Schwochow, and Brylee Shields.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Leland.
Visitation will be held for Diane on Thursday, January 11 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont. Memorial services will begin at 10:00am at St. John's Lutheran Church on Friday, January 12, with an hour of visitation held prior from 9:00-10:00am.
Burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to St. John's Lutheran Church in Fremont.
