Denis S. Bruns

Denis S. Bruns, 69, of Helena, died Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Toledo Hospital. He was born October 20, 1953 in Fremont, the son of Benjamin and Eloise (Walker)Bruns. Denis graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1972. He worked at Hunt Wesson foods (ConAgra) until early 2000s. After retiring, he devoted his time to Main Street Church and his grandchildren. He also enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing, tinkering in the garage and helping people.

He is survived by his 3 children: Mike (Kristen) Bruns of Gibsonburg, Aimee Bruns of Helena, Marci (Jeff) Battani of Burgoon, OH. Also survived by his grandchildren Madison Lee, Marissa and Kollin Bruns, Andrea (Brian) Miller, Abbi Hines, Trenten and Gavin Self; 1 great-grandchild on the way; siblings Gay (Jeff) Tingley, Jo (Randy) Beeker, Keith (Teresa) Bruns, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Eloise, second wife Barbara, brother Glenn and 2 nieces.

Visitation will take place from 3-6 P.M. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Herman-Veh Funeral Homes & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Tom Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to Mainstreet Church, 5465 Moline Martin Road, Walbridge, OH 43465.
