David James "Jim" Mauk
Jim Mauk, 92, of Fremont passed away, March 22, 2022 at Valley View Care Center.
Jim was born January 15, 1930 the son of Emory and Marie (Bird) Mauk he was raised in Johnstown, PA. Jim enjoyed spending summers with Charles & Vivian Crigger and their five children in Fremont.
He was a United States Korean War Veteran, he was awarded numerous medals including a bronze star.
Jim was lovingly welcomed back into the Crigger family upon his return from Korea. This is where he met his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Marie Polter, they married July 11, 1954 and remained living in Fremont. He retired from Ford Motor Company.
Jim was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, he served church council, acted as a Deacon and was quick to assist with many projects. He is also very proud of the three holes in one he made during his golf career.
Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving is his wife Phyllis, son Brad (Chantal) Mauk of Port Clinton, OH
grandchildren: Tyler Mauk; Ryan (Daisy) Mauk; Dominique (Troy) Licata; Stephen Pulter
great-grandchildren: Mya and Ava Licata; Nina Mauk, and anticipated great-granddaughter Scarlett Phyllis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
The family would like to thank the nurses of Bellevue Hospital and Valley View Care Center for their exceptional care of Jim.
A Celebration of his Life will be planned for July.
