David D Long, age 82, passed away on May 8, 2022 at Regency Hospital (Cleveland Clinic) Middleburg Heights, Ohio
He was born on November 12, 1939, in Sandusky OH, to Gladys and Edward Long, and they preceded him in death along with his brother Luther Long.
Dave was married to Judy Herring at Grace Lutheran Church. They were married for 58 years. They have one son, Mark (Rachel) and three grandchildren, Hunter, Rylee, and baby Owen. He also has two nephews, Lance (Karen) Long and Jeff (Tessa) Long.
Dave was a graduate of Clyde High School in 1957. Dave then went to Bowling Green State University to continue his education to become a teacher. While at Bowling Green Dave was on the first Wrestling team at BG and was a member to the Sigma-Nu Fraternity. Dave taught for 8 years at Washington School in Lindsey and Science for 22 years at Fremont Jr. High. He was also involved with the Fremont Ross Wrestling Program. During his career Dave served as a junior high coach, assistant varsity coach and during the 1971-72 he was the intern head coach. Dave was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Moose.
Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as spending time in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Dave also enjoyed his daily trips to Stone Street Tavern to catch up with his friends, talk stocks and talk about life in general.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home. Calling hours will be Saturday, May 14 from 1-3pm. At 3:00 there will a memorial service at the funeral home, all are welcome to attend and share.
