Darla A. Miller

Darla A. Miller, 59, of Fremont passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. She was born on July 25, 1961 in South Bend, IN to Rev. Jay & Helen (Knauth) Smith.

Darla graduated from Swanton High School, and after raising her children furthered her education receiving her bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in computer information systems. For many years Darla worked for the former Fremont Memorial Hospital as a Billing Team Leader until her retirement in 2017.

On November 19, 1988 she married her counterpart Jeff Miller at Perrysburg Alliance Church. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother, spending extra care in her knitting and crafting for her grandbabies. Despite being in a household of Buckeye fans, Darla held firm in her loyalty to the Penn State Nittany Lions. As a member of Fremont Alliance Church, she will be missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jeff; children, Rachel Miller of Fremont and Andrew (Tiffany) Miller of Helena; grandchildren, Theodore and Oliver Miller; and parents, Pastor Jay & Helen Smith of Fremont

Darla is preceded in death by her sister, Carol (Smith) Barringer.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Fremont Alliance Church in honor of Darla.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Fremont Alliance Church from 10:30a-Noon. Funeral Services will be beginning at noon. Pastor Glenn Merrill will officiate, and burial and Committal Services will follow at McGormley Cemetery. Those attending are required to wear a mask to enter. Please be patient as admittance will be guided to adhere to social distancing. Funeral Services will be live streamed through the church’s website: fremontallliance.net.
