Conni Jean (Baker) Gefeke

Conni Jean (Baker) Gefeke, 62, of Fremont, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on December 9, 1962 to Richard and Georgia (Hunt) Baker. As 1981 a graduate of Fremont Ross, Conni continued her education at Terra State Community College graduating in 1984 with an associates degree in accounting. She worked in accounting at Bob Chapmon Ford in Marysville for several years before moving back to Fremont in 2012.

On September 16, 1989, she married John Gefeke in Milford, OH. They shared 31 years until his passing in 2020.

Conni enjoyed doing jigsaw and word puzzles. She also liked to make crafts of any kind including crocheting and painting ceramics. Conni loved the home she made for herself in her later years at Bethesda where she could read and partake in the activities there like Bingo. Throughout her life, Constance had many pets, and she took great joy in nurturing and loving not only her own animals but also the pets of others.

Surviving is her son, Nathan Gefeke of Tiffin; siblings, Linda (Jeff ) Holcomb of Gibsonburg, Jennifer Wagner of Gibsonburg, Dan (Katie) Baker of Fremont, and Mary (Larry) Brockmueller of Fremont; brothers in-law, Bill Gruber of Fremont and Joe Warchola of Alaska; sister-in-law, Janet Baker of Fremont; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brother, Mike Baker; sisters, Sue Gruber and Sandy Warchola; and brother-in-law, Bill Wagner.

Memorials in honor of Constance may be made to Heartland Hospice, Grace Community Church- Tiffin or Bethesda Care Center.

Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 5:00-6:30 PM with Funeral Services to follow, beginning at 6:30 PM. Pastor Robin Small will officiate.
