Christina "Chris" Ann Roepke, 91 of Gibsonburg passed away on March 31, 2023 at her home. She was born on January 3, 1932 to the late Herbert and Vada (Damschroder) Zorn.
On November 19, 1949, she married James Roepke, sharing 53 years together before his passing in 2003.
Chris worked as a bus driver for the Gibsonburg School system for 40 years, retiring in 2008. She also worked at the concession stand at Gibsonburg Schools and the Fremont Speedway for 50 years.
She was active in the Gibsonburg Athletic Boosters and the Delta Chi Sorority and was inducted into the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame. Chris was also a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan (Duane) Lohr of Elmore, Cynthia Cousino (Randy Brubaker) of Fremont, Patty Netcher of Elmore, Jayne Roepke (Tom Charlton) of Falls Church, Virginia, and Scott Roepke of Gibsonburg; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She will be terribly missed by her ever-present loyal animal friends.
Christina is preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Herbert and Vada; siblings, Joanne Ford, Florence Yenour, George Zorn, and Herbert Zorn Jr.; grandson, Brian Bradner; and son-in-law, Donald Netcher.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4 from 2:00-8:00PM at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 5 beginning at 11:00AM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with an hour of visitation prior to services. Burial will follow at North Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Donations in Chris's name may be made to the Gibsonburg Athletic Boosters, the Humane Society of Sandusky County, or to the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame.
