Charlotte A. (Watson) McCachren, of Oak Harbor & Fremont area, passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born in Findlay, OH, on December 5, 1933 to the late Harold and Nellie (Dukes) Watson.
On August 1, 1954, she married the love of her life Charles T. McCachren at the First United Presbyterian Church, Fremont. As they grew their family, Charlotte continued to take an active role for her whole life. She and Charles often hosted holidays and large family reunions that would include meals made with home grown produce that came from their garden. She taught sewing as a 4-H advisor to a generation of children and her own. There were many family camping trips and traveling the continental United States after their retirement.
Charlotte was a dedicated member of various community organizations, including the Farm Bureau Board, an active member of the Ohio Child Conservation League, and a diligent volunteer at the Hayes Presidential Center. She and Charles were a gracious host family to many individuals for the International Foreign Youth Exchange through the 4-H organization.
Charlotte worked as a Real Estate Agent & Broker for 28 years. During that time she worked for several local companies such as Century 21 and RE/MAX until owning and operating her own company, Northgate Realty. She retired in 2004.
Family left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Isley of Ohio, Laura McCachren Walsh of Maryland, and Suzanne McCachren of Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Samantha of Ohio, Anna of Texas, and Emily of Maryland; siblings, Rolland (Karen) Watson and Glen (Sandra) Watson; sisters-in-law, Alice (Rethinger) Watson and Helen (McCachren) Kross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. McCachren; parents, brother, Richard F. Watson; sister-in-law, Barbara (McCachren) Ignasiak; brother-in-law, Robert J. McCachren; and nephew, Robert D. Watson.
In honor of Charlotte's life, all will be welcomed to the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 9-11 AM for visiting with a memorial service to begin at 11 AM where we will cherish the memories and stories that made her so special to us all. Certified Celebrant Susann Robitski Cannon will officiate and burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
