Charles "Charlie" Wayne DeMoss, 80, of Fremont passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. Born on July 12, 1942, Charles was the son of the late James W. and Nancy "Aline" (Sidwell) DeMoss.
He joined the U.S. Navy, serving in Orange, TX during the Cuban Blockade from 1960 until 1963. On February 26, 1966, he married the love of his life, Nita Jean Clark in Detroit, MI. Charlie worked for Chrysler, and after 31 years of dedication he retired. He was a member of the UAW Local 1435.
Charlie will be remembered for being silly, singing for anybody and everyone, and tenderly dancing with his wife at any given moment. He enjoyed woodworking and bargain shopping at garage sales and tag-it sales. He was also an avid walker at the YMCA with his buddies.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jean; children, Tammy (Nathan) Hill and David (Jill) DeMoss all of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Justin DeMoss, Tyler Hill both of Gibsonburg, Jennifer (Austin) DeMoss-Smith of Detroit, MI; great-grandson, Bryson Hill of Gibsonburg; and sister, Jewel (Bob) Crown of Auburndale, FL.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James W. Jr., Sherman, and Eugene DeMoss.
Visitation for Charles will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 3-5 PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont with Funeral Services and Military Honors beginning at 5 PM.
As per his request no flowers please, rather memorial donations in Charlie's name may be made to Stein Hospice.
