Gibsonburg – Carolyn J. McGough, 75, passed away on June 25, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy, Toledo. She was born in Fostoria on June 6, 1945 to Earl Zender, Sr. and Hazel (Meyers) Zender.
On Dec. 24, 1965 in Ypsilanti, MI, she married the love of her life Billy B. McGough. They shared 52 years of marriage until his passing in 2018. Caring for her family was a top priority to Carolyn. She enjoyed many Sunday dinners with them, and never missed an opportunity to cheer for her grandchildren in any and all of their activities or sporting events.
Carolyn will be remembered for her abundant faith and prayerful spirit. If there was a way she could help, Carolyn would be there, and even in death she continues to show her love to others through organ & tissue donation. She was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and was a faithful visitor to residents of Windsor Lane and Luther Meadow where she enjoyed their company and many card games.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Mike (Troy) McGough of Akron, Shelly (Joe) Dry of Calera, OK, Tammy (Tom) Stoudinger of Gibsonburg, Holly (Geno Perales) McGough of Gibsonburg, Tom (Heather) McGough of Gibsonburg, Kim McGough-Sleek of Green Springs; grandchildren, Michael, Jason, & Mandy McGough; Austin, James & Jakob Dry; Mackenzie, Alyssa & Keegan Stoudinger; Sydney & Lyndsey Perales; Mason, Dylan & Collin McGough; and Katelyn, TJ, Aidan & Zach McGough; great-grandson, Grayson McGough; and siblings, Joe Zender, Kenny Zender and Ruth Goggans.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Sr.; son, Billy McGough, Jr.; grandson, Max McGough; foster parents, Nick and Evelyn Schetter; and siblings, Earl and Arthur Zender.
In honor of Carolyn, memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 1-3 & 5-8 p.m. Those attending are required to wear a mask to enter the facility. Please be patient as admittance will be guided to adhere to social distancing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 1st 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church those wishing to attend will be directed to the parish hall due to Covid-19. Live streaming of the Mass will be available in the hall as seating will be reserved for family in the church. Those attending Mass will have the opportunity to process with them to Scott Trinity Cemetery for the Committal Service. Live streaming of the Mass and Committal Services at the Cemetery will be available through the funeral home’s website where you may also send an online condolence at: www.hermanfh.com.
