Carolyn E. (Overmyer) Lipstraw "Tobe" of Lindsey OH, passed from this world on Saturday, October 29th, 2022, at Elmwood Care Center of Fremont, where she resided. She was born in Lindsey, the youngest of 4 children to Ted & Elizabeth (Harpel) Overmyer on February 8, 1934.
Carolyn was a graduate of Ross High School, in 1952. She worked as a receptionist at S. E. Heyman Co. for 6 years following high school, where she met her future husband. She married Arlyn W. Lipstraw on June 22, 1957 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsey, where she was a life-long member. Together they were members of the One Milers Farm Bureau Council for many years as they built the family farm. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. Her banana cream pie was one of the first things enjoyed at church potlucks. She loved to play cards with neighbors and friends, and spent a lot of time in the summer preserving vegetables from their garden. Carolyn's strong faith inspired many as she relied on God to get her through many trials of life.
Carolyn is survived by a son, James (Nancy) Lipstraw of Lindsey, as well as 5 grandchildren she adored, Adrienne Lipstraw, Allegra (Pat) Inman and Alexandria (Marcus Sprout) Lipstraw all of central Ohio. Renee Lipstraw (Katherine Palmisano) of Indiana and Steven Lipstraw (James Maier) of New York, and many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Arlyn on November 10, 2007, her parents, son John, infant daughter Mary Beth, brother Donald Overmyer, sisters Maisy Berger and Mary Zimmerman.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 6th from 1-3pm at Lindsey Trinity United Methodist Church, 231 S. Maple Street, Lindsey OH 43442 with services beginning at 3pm, with Pastor Travis Montgomery presiding. Burial will follow at Lindsey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Lindsey Trinity United Methodist Church, 231 S. Maple Street, Lindsey OH 43442, or to the donor's choice.
Carolyn's family wishes to thank the staff of Elmwood for their care.
