Carol A. Woods, 93 of Marblehead passed away on September 24, 2023 at Otterbein Assisted Living. She was born on June 9, 1930 to the late Carl and Lola (Crippen) Hill in Portsmouth, OH. 

One of seven children, Carol graduated from West Portsmouth High School in 1948. Shortly after, she married James Woods in Greenup, KY, and shared 54 years together before his passing in 2002. 

Carol worked as a cashier for multiple businesses throughout her years, as well as a clerk for Standard Products, retiring in 1980. She was also a member of Church of Christ in Port Clinton. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, James R. (Nancy) Woods, Larry (Linda) Woods, Brian (Wendy) Woods, and Michael (Jan) Woods; sister, Wanda Leonard of AZ; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. 

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lola; husband, James; four brothers; and one sister. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26 from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory (900 North St. Fremont, Ohio). Services will begin at 12:00pm at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
