Carlene L. Held

Carlene L. Held, 85, of Lindsey, was received into the arms of her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She was born at home on July 11, 1937 in Tinney, OH the daughter of Eli and Naomi (Gerwin) Fausey. Carlene was a 1955 graduate of Risingsun High School.

On April 11, 1959 she married Donald J. Held. The couple met while working at Tony's Bakery. Carlene went on to work for Prairie Market, Hasslebach Meats, Ohio Turnpike and Lindsey Village Market. She was a member of Lindsey Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, oversaw Kids Club and was active in the Women's Circle. 

Carlene was deeply devoted to her family and faith, which were both at the center of her world. She had a special love of children,  rarely missed a grandchild's activity or special occasion, and was like a "bonus grandma" to many. Many who knew Carlene knew her to be one of the most selfless, giving, and positive-minded humans they ever knew, and that she was noted for never forgetting to gift every special person in her life with cards for every holiday, birthday, and any occasion-in-between. Carlene knew how to make people feel like they mattered.
Surviving is her husband Don of Lindsey; son Michael (Mary Kay) Held of New London, OH; grandchildren Taylor (Alyssa) Held, Olivia (Nate) McIntosh, Dane Held; great-grandchildren Gabriel and Nora McIntosh; sister Lois Beal of Port Clinton, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Herb Fausey and Carol Eversole.

Graveside services and a celebration of her life will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Lindsey Cemetery, Lindsey, OH. Pastor Travis Montgomery will officiate. Fellowship will follow at Trinity Fellowship Hall. Memorial Contributions may be made to Lindsey Trinity United Methodist Church.
