Brenda Lou (Bork) Koepp, 73, of Westerville, OH, formerly of Gibsonburg, OH and TX, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020. She was born on March 31, 1947, in Fremont, OH, to the late Lewis O. and Florence C. (Gerwin) Bork of Gibsonburg, OH. Brenda married Harold F. Koepp, of New Braunfels, TX on December 27, 1969. They were married 50 years. He survives.
Surviving brother Denis (Patricia) Bork, children include Christopher (Wendy) Koepp, Heidi (Carl) DeGrace of OH, Shawn (Kayla) Koepp of AL, Richard Koepp of OH and Nicki-Marie Koepp of TX. Grandchildren, Trinity DeGrace, Hudson DeGrace, Madelynn DeGrace, Chassity Koepp, Austin McMichael, Gabriella Koepp, Aaric Koepp, Rheagan Brazier, Carina Koepp, step-grandchildren, Dante Pulido and Shane Pulido, sister-in-law Arlene Koepp, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, toddler granddaughter, and three brother-in-laws.
Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Gibsonburg, OH. She graduated with a BA in Education, Sociology, Psychology, and English. Post graduate was obtained in special needs from Trinity University, San Antonio, TX. She was a teacher for 25 years in all areas of special needs as well as elementary and college level for Big Bend European University, Germany. Brenda also taught in the Texas Department of Corrections as well as being a group counselor and on the parole board. She was a teacher supervisor for the Tiffin MH-MR of OH. Brenda held officer positions in the following organizations: Gibsonburg Delphians, and local Teacher Association of TX, LA, OH. She was also a leader of Girl Scout and Boy Scout, 4-H, Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher, a director of two special needs plays and a talent show that were broadcasted by a local TX-TV channel. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg, OH.
Graveside services will be at West Union Cemetery on Saturday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by Herman-Veh Funeral and Cremation, Gibsonburg, OH. Contribution may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, 313 E. Madison St., Gibsonburg, OH 43431 or to the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Dept, Gibsonburg, OH 43431.
