Bonnie K. Whisler, 79, of Fremont and most recently of Anthem, AZ, passed on Saturday, January 15, 2022, surrounded by her family at the Sonoran Crossing Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.
Born in Fremont on February 4, 1942, she was one of two daughters of Robert and Thelma (Lutz) Littler. As a youngster, she had an impeccable singing voice and often performed on live radio broadcasts. She graduated from Old Fort High School and began her working career at Toledo Edison as a customer service representative. She worked there for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. On September 5, 1976, she married Ronald Dean Whisler. Ron passed on November 7, 2015.
Bonnie was energetic and kept very active after retiring from Edison. She worked at the local Holiday Inn Express in Fremont, the Fremont Post of the American Legion, and was a member of the Bettsville American Legion. She enjoyed working and being with people which made her an amazing manager of the Sandusky County Fairgrounds. But of all her qualities, she will be remembered most for the love of her family children, grand and great-grandchildren. She played cards, Rummy and Euchre and recently picked up crafting and pickleball. Her optimism, humor and friendly personality will sadly be missed.
She leaves behind children, Kris (Dave) Rice of Findlay, Clay (Dawn) Keim of Fremont, Adam J. (Brandi) Whisler of Anthem, AZ and Bob Whitman of Drums, PA; grandchildren, Jaymie Rhoad, Becca Recca, Kaydee, Deven and Jacob Keim and Ava and Asher Whisler; and great-grandchildren Dillon Sommers, Abigail, and Zavier Rhoad.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Thelma Littler; her sister Roxanne Littler; husband, Ron; infant son, Jacob; and daughter in law, Melody Whitman.
Visitation for Bonnie will be held on Sunday, January 23rd from 4-7 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont. An additional hour of Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 24th from 9-10 a.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Mike Maskel will officiate, and burial will follow at Washington Chapel Cemetery, Helena.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be directly to the Sandusky County School of Hope or to the Sandusky County Humane Society.
