Betty Kopcak

Betty Ann (Beeler) Kopcak, 91, of Fremont, passed away at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, Ohio on March 24, 2025. Betty was born on June 5, 1933 to John and Mary Beeler in Fremont, Ohio. Betty was a 1951 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She married George Joseph Kopcak on November 25, 1954.

Betty worked at Union Carbide for 30 years as a secretary, retiring in 1988. She always enjoyed taking her grandchildren to their holiday parties for staff. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whether it be holidays, a phone call, or a visit. You never left her house without a hug, kiss, and an “I love you”. Betty was an avid reader all throughout her life. She enjoyed listening to the windchimes on her porch, keeping up with current events, and watching or reading stories about animals. Betty also enjoyed crossword puzzles and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Betty is survived by her son, David (Sheri) Kopcak; daughter-in-law, Clara Kopcak; grandchildren, Rachel Kopcak, Brian Kopcak, Jennifer Kopcak, Nathan Kopcak, Sara (Shane) Durnwald, great-grandchildren, Dylan James Rathburn-Kopcak, Mariah Rathburn, Emma Kopcak, and Peyton Durnwald. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Adams and John Beeler; step-father, Harry Adams; and son, George Kopcak Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the School of Hope, 1001 Castalia Street, Fremont, OH, 43420.
