Barbara J. Stull, 86 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Promedica Memorial
Hospital. She was born May 1, 1937, in Port Clinton, the daughter of James (Red) Fowler and Louise
(Carstensen, Fowler) Crosby. She was 1955 graduate of Fremont Ross. On January 14, 1961, she married Kenneth Stull at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2012.
Barbara was retired from Fremont City Schools where she worked as Assistant Treasurer, working her
way up the ranks from a playground supervisor at Croghan Elementary. She was a member of St. Mark's
Lutheran Church, Fremont VFW, Fremont Moose, and secretary of REAC. Barb joined the Croghan Aerie
712 Auxiliary - Fremont Eagles in 1976 – following in her mother’s footsteps, she was very active
becoming an officer and held the position of Secretary for over 25 years. Barb also participated in the
Ladies Drill team, which won numerous competitions plus two national titles from 1983 – 1993. Barb
was the Ohio State President of the Eagles from 2001 – 2002, she was the East Central Regional
President in 2014, Mother of the Year and many other state delegations. Barb was a Past President for
Soroptimist of Fremont and Campfire board member. Together with Ken she enjoyed camping especially
with the many friends they met at Eagle State Campgrounds in Bellefontaine, OH.
Anyone that knows Barb, knows how she loved The Ohio State Buckeyes. She also enjoyed watching the
Cleveland Cavaliers, reading, sewing, camping, a good glass of wine, collecting quilts and many other
collectibles.
Surviving are her daughters Mindy Mills (Denny Woodruff) and Jamie Gottron of Fremont, OH;
grandchildren Brittney Mills and Cory Gottron; great- grandsons Bryce McKinstry and Bronx McKinstry;
sister Nancy Park of Fremont, several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, and son Mark Stull.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Fremont Eagles on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 2-4:00P.M. Memorial Contributions
