Barbara Michael

Barbara A. Michael, 92, of Fremont, passed away at Bethesda Care Center on November 13, 2022. She was born in Tiffin on August 27, 1930, to John (Rusciano) and Irene (Meilleur) Ruskin. Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and studied business at Tiffin University. On September 8, 1956, she married Carl R. Michael at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage until his passing on February 21, 2000.

Barbara had a love for animals and music. She learned to play the piano when she was 12 years old and later in life sang with the Veracious Voices of Victory. She was a past member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Fremont, the Moose, and a lifetime member of the VFW.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Amy (James) Leadford of Winston-Salem, NC, Christine Michael, Susanne Walter, and Thomas Michael, all of Fremont; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Rosanne Michael; siblings, John Rusciano Jr., and Charles Dane Meilleur, Robert Ruskin.

Services will be private for Barbara's family. She will be laid to rest at Four Mile House Cemetery in Fremont.
