Barbara Hotz

Barbara Jean Hotz, 72, of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. She was born on February 21, 1951 a daughter to Paul and Esther Onita (Boltz) Shiley.

For many years Barbara was the secretary for her husband's business, Whitey's Automotive. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed Geocaching and was even able to enjoy Geocaching with her daughter(s) while traveling through the United States to the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. Barb had a huge heart and went out of her way to help and to be kind to others. She was special in every way and if you met her you loved her.

Surviving are her daughters, Tina (Greg Roush) Carter of Helena and Tonia (Jim) Bollenbacher of Fremont; step-children, Tony (Jennifer) Hotz of Fremont, Pamela (Zachery) Taylor of Cincinnati, and Samuel (Maryhelen) Hotz of Leonardtown, MD; several loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kenneth Boltz, Paul Boltz, Becky Fetterman, Liz Tantinger, Barb Conrad, Thomas Gans, and Mary Baley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Stephen Hotz who passed away in 2013; grandson, Jared Katz; and siblings, Reginald Boltz and Darlene Carter.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont Ohio 43420 from 9:00-11:00 AM where funeral services will follow beginning at 11AM. Pastor David Damschroder will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont.

Memorials in honor of Barbara may be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
