August "Gus" Lawrence Miller, 86, of Helena, was called home by God on the morning of Monday, April 1, 2024. He was born on December 4, 1937 on the Miller family Century Farm in Millersville Ohio, to the late Arthur and Mary (Corl) Miller.
Gus was a 1955 graduate of St. Joseph High School. He went on to work as an electrician with the Whirlpool Corporation until his retirement in 2001.
He met his wife Patricia (Rock) Miller in 1958 through the Fremont Catholic Adult social club. They were married on July 4, 1959 at Clyde, St Mary's Catholic parish, and have shared over 64 years of memories together.
Gus led a life of service to others. He was known for his charitable nature and love of helping others.
Gus was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Millersville. He distributed communion to the sick at their homes and care centers for many years, and was a member of the organ choir for over 40 years. His church family will always remember Gus singing and playing his violin at Christmas Masses.

Gus also served on the parish council, was a member of the St. Joseph School Board, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was president of Whirlpool Community Charities.
When he wasn't serving his community, Gus enjoyed playing his violin in the local Irish band Mulligan Stew for many years, along with his family and friends. He was also an avid golfer, card player, and was a proud Midwest Cornhusker Champion.
The Miller family patriarch, Gus was humbled and dedicated to preserving their family farm. He and Pat joyfully hosted over 100 relatives for the annual Miller Reunion on the farm last July.
