Allan Ray Williams, 79, of Gibsonburg passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. He was born in Toledo to the late Merlyn "Dale" and Barbara (Emerson) Williams.
After his 1960 graduation from Gibsonburg High School, Al served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was a legacy farmer, and he raised hogs and grew a variety of crops over the years, eventually retired in 2004. On September 6, 1969, he married Geraldine "Gerry" Hipp at St. Alphonsus in Norwalk.
Al was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church. He was a skilled woodworker, starting from his sawmill to furniture and cabinets. Al was also known for carving the wings on St. Michael at the church in Gibsonburg, and for his collaboration with Tony Pucciuto freely offering his milled wood for Tony's crosses.
Surviving is his wife, Gerry of Gibsonburg; children, Connie (Ed) Corbett, Steve (Amy Marie Babcock) Williams of Perrysburg, Mike Williams of St. Petersburg, FL, Mark (Tara) Williams of Gibsonburg, and Michelle (Todd) Aldrich of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Kristina Corbett, Samantha Meyer, Katlyn Corbett, Christopher Corbett, Logan Williams, Olivia Aldrich, Hayden Williams, Tucker Williams, Sydney Aldrich, and Emory Williams; great-grandchildren, Lily and Danny and Charley on the way; and sister, Kathy (Bruce) Brown of Jenera, OH.
A Funeral Mass will be said on Monday, January 10th at 10:30 am at Saint Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg where visitation will be held 1 hour prior. Father Scott Woods will officiate. Burial will follow at Saint Michael and St. Lawrence Cemetery, Gibsonburg. The family requests that you wear a mask for everyone's safety. If needed, masks will be available at the back of church. Out of an abundance of caution, the family has decided not to have a luncheon gathering.
