Alice Faye Shammo

Alice Shammo, 84, a longtime Gibsonburg resident and former business owner, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 in Tiffin, Ohio, as a resident of Elmwood at The Shawhan. She was born April 16,1938 in Fremont, Ohio to Charles and Mabel (Sevits) Shammo.

Alice graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1956. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, Ohio.

Alice managed Paul's Plumbing and Hardware in Gibsonburg for many years. She was a longtime member of the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, an honorary member of Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department, and an officer of NOVFA. She supported numerous Gibsonburg town events, including the Go Cart Grand Prix races and NOVFA conventions.

Alice was a devoted leader in the Shammo family, hosting many family events. Her love and care for family members was felt deeply.

Alice's hobbies included caring for her home, gardening, travel, camping, and shopping.

Alice is survived by sisters, Mardel Haslinger of Gibsonburg, OH, and Mary Ann Collins of Fairborn, OH, and 42 nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucielle Hoodlebrink, Margorie Gregg, Susie Hiser, Patricia Kline; and brothers Robert, Donald, Clyde, Ralph, and Bill Shammo, as well as longtime companion Carl Paul.

We would like to give a special thanks to Stein Hospice and the staff at Elmwood Fremont and Elmwood at The Shawhan for the care and comfort they provided to Alice.

In accordance with her wishes, no visiting or services will take place. Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W.
