Albert P. Mendez

Albert P. Mendez Jr., 49, of Fremont passed away on Friday, August 23. 

He was born on June 20, 1975 to the late Alberto Mendez and Maria Lemaitre in Cavalier, ND. 

Albert was currently enrolled at Terra State Community College, as he pursued a degree in HVAC systems. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Cavaliers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Guardians. He also enjoyed golfing in his spare time and spending time with his friends and family. His loved ones will always remember how he lit up a room with his jokes and bright personality. 

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Maria; children, Molly Royster, Cloudy Bell, Ryan Jensen, and Freddy Gonzales; grandson, Fernando Gonzales; granddaughter, Aonesti Anderson; sister, Denise (Nova Gonzalez) Mendez; nephew, Jacob Oettinger; aunts and uncles, Noe (Mary) Torres, Francisco (Terri) Torres, Rachel (Louis) Naderer, Gracie Garza, Norma (Mike) Miller, Jesus Torres, Elisa Collins, Leticia (Carmello) Lopez, Lupe (Rudy) Diaz, Juanita (Juan) Ossorio, Frank Mendez, Alejandrina (Salvador) De La Garza, Bertha Mendez, Melissa (Raul) Valdez, Maria Mendez, and Maricela Mendez; along with many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alberto Mendez; sister, Veronica Morales; grandparents, Hilario and Celia Torres, and Francisco and Juanita Mendez; and uncles, Hilario Torres Jr., Pablo Torres, Ricardo Torres, Dale Collins, Art Garza, Angel Mendez, and Pedro Mendez.

Visitation for Albert will be held on Wednesday, September 4 from 10:00AM-12:00PM, at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow. 

Donations in Albert's name may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, or to the American Heart Association.
