Agnes Irene Detzel

Agnes Irene (Kramer) Detzel, 90 of Gibsonburg, OH passed away on August 15, 2024 in Toledo, OH.

She was born in Fremont, OH on July 22, 1934 to William and Rosetta Kramer. She was the youngest of four children.

Agnes graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1952.

She married Marlyn Dennis Detzel on July, 24, 1954 at Saint Anns Church in Fremont, OH. Together they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Agnes and Marlyn were devoted members of Saint Michaels Church in Gibsonburg, OH. their entire married life.

In the 1950’s Agnes worked as a bookkeeper at the Christy Company in Fremont, OH. She worked babysitting and housekeeping, while raising her four children. She also worked at Veh & Son Furniture and Funeral home in Gibsonburg until she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and baking.

She is survived by her children, Teresa (Charles) Lahman of Gibsonburg, Christine (Randall) Kern of Kansas, OH, Donna (Hal) Christy of Fremont, OH, and Carl Detzel of Toledo, OH., eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband Marlyn; siblings William Kramer Sr., Walter Kramer, and Barbara Empcke.

A private memorial mass will take place at 10:00A.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Saint Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg, OH.
