Brock A. Kimmet, 58, of Fremont passed away on the evening of April 20, 2022. He was born on October 6, 1963 to the late John Philip and Patsy Sue (Routson) Kimmet in Sandusky.
A 1982 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, Brock went on to graduate from Terra Community College in 1984. He was also enlisted in the Ohio National Guard and served at Camp Perry from 1981 to 1985.
In 1979, Brock met Dawn Ickes by a chance in an alleyway, causing two high school sweethearts to fall head over heels for one another. They were married in 1985 at St. Casimir Catholic Church.
Starting his career of law enforcement after high school at Terra Community College (Criminal Justice), his first job was at the Fremont Police Department, then to the Sandusky County Sheriff's Department, to Probation at Common Pleas Court, then running the two lower County Courts with Judge Dewey. He finished his career as County Administrator at the Sandusky County Common Pleas Court retiring in 2020. He was a member of St. Ann and St. Joseph Churches, the Knights of Columbus, FOP, S.C.R.A.P., and the NRA. Brock enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as sharing his knowledge of firearms.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dawn; sons, Brandon L. (Michelle E.) Kimmet, and Tyler P. (Miranda M.) Kimmet; grandchildren, Chase A. Kimmet, Brielle K.Kimmet, Emma S. Kimmet, Leah D. Kimmet, Knox T. Kimmet, and Krew B. Kimmet on the way; and siblings, Tina (Bernie) Whitt, Lisa (Ken) Martin, Brett (Anna) Kimmet, and Shawn (Mindy) Kimmet; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Brock is preceded in death by his parents, John and Patsy; and a grandson, Brantley K. Kimmet.
Visitation for Brock will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 1-5 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont. A Funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday, April 27, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
