Robert A. Brown, 76, of Fremont, died Saturday morning at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. He was born on August 2, 1928 in Republic, Ohio, to Oscar D. and Edna Rebecca (Painter) Brown. On June 14, 1976 he married Helen Keith at The Church of Christ in Fremont. Mr. Brown graduated from Republic High School in 1946, and then worked as a conductor, brakeman and yardmaster for the Nickel Plate Railroad and the Norfolk & Western-Norfolk Southern Railroads, retiring in 1990. Robert was a member of The Church of Christ, was an avid hunter, racecar fan, and enjoyed flying planes and yard work. Surviving Robert are his wife; children, Diane (Tom) Wilhelm of Green Springs, Dennis (Rebecca) Brown of Tiffin, Barbara (David) Hendrix of Akron, Linda (Jeff) Hoover of Republic, Roy Samuel Brown of Cuyahoga Falls; step children, Judy (Ned) Garn of Chardon, Joyce (Ron) Mooney of Fremont, John (Kathy) Fawley of Fremont, Jim (Jane) Fawley of Fremont, and Rick (Sarah) Fawley of Toledo; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Steele, Sandusky.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Block Cemetery.
