Carl E. Brubaker, 92, formerly of Burgoon, died early Friday, January 8, 2010 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Green Springs. He was born on September 29, 1917 in Burgoon, OH to Elmer and Inez (Jackson) Brubaker. Carl was a graduate of Jackson Burgoon Schools. He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed fishing, his dogs and he loved playing cards. He was a member of the Farm Bureau Council. Carl attended Burgoon United Methodist Church. On October 12, 1935 he married Dorothy Marie Cramer in Monroe, MI and she preceded him in death on January 18, 2000.
Survivors include daughters, Norma Jean (Phil) Havens of Fremont and Patricia (Richard) Nieset of New Washington, OH and daughter-in-law, Janet Brubaker; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Roy Brubaker and half-sister, Dorothy Brooks.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 10th from 3-6 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Albright officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Burgoon.
Memorials may be made to Burgoon United Methodist Church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital in Carls memory.
