Elizabeth Jane (Hopkins) Eversole, 86, of Eastlake, OH and formerly of Hessville, OH, departed this earth to be with The Lord Wednesday night, July 18, at the Lake West Hospital in Willoughby, OH.
Jane was born on July 10, 1921 in Sandusky County, Ohio to the now deceased John and Lilly (Champnod) Hopkins. In 1937, she married Robert Eversole. Together they lived in Hessville and belonged to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hessville. Robert died on December 18, 1984. Jane remained in Hessville until she moved to Eastlake in 1991.
Until the recent onset of her illness, Mrs. Eversole was an active volunteer at the JFK Senior Center in Eastlake, helping to serve meals and making pillows and neck pillows for Hospice patients. Jane was especially proud of her Volunteer Certificates, those that will be handed down to her grandchildren for remembrances. She also enjoyed tending her plants, gardening and playing games with her family and friends.
Surviving are is son, Norman R. (Judy) Eversole of Eastlake, granddaughter Vicki L. (John) Novince of Medina, great granddaughters Ashley E. and Hannah L Novince, and sisters Annabelle Knott of Toledo, Isabelle Cheek of Oregon and Rosie Knott of Fremont.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Ronald Lee Eversole, sisters Myrtle Williams and Helen McCollister and in-laws Eli and Sarah Eversole.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hessville with 1 hour of visitation at the church prior to the service. Pastor Dennis Wansitler will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janes name may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hessville or to her family.
