Benjamin C. Bruns

Benjamin Benny C. Bruns, 79, formerly of Gibsonburg, died early Thursday morning at Harborside of Perrysburg. He was born on January 11, 1926 in Millbury to Harry and Florence (Hensick) Bruns. Raised in Gibsonburg, he graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1943. On December 17, 1949 he married Eloise M. Walker and she survives. Benny was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge #575 and Fremont OES133. He retired from Federal Government after 25 years of service and 15 years at Peter Eckrich.

Surviving are children Glenn (Mary) of Gibsonburg, Denis of Perrysburg, Gay (Jeff) Tingley of Northwood, JoAnne (Randy) Beeker and Keith (Teresa) of Gibsonburg, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ralph (Ruth) of Pemberville. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Bernice Grieger, Gladys Storms; brothers, Norman, Paul, Arthur and Emerson.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg where Gibsonburg Masonic Lodge Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the time of service.

Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Bennys name to: Zion Lutheran Church or Odyssey Hospice Health Care, 1755 Indianwood Circle, Maumee, OH 43537.
