Betty J. (Pressler) Lanning, 84 of Gibsonburg died Friday afternoon, September 2, 2005 at her daughters home in Gibsonburg. She was born on July 9, 1921 in Gibsonburg to John & Cornelia (Humberger) Ottney. Betty graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1939. In 1940 she married Robert Earl Pressler and he died in 1986. Betty worked for the Gibsonburg Canning Co. as a bookkeeper for 30 years. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Gibsonburg. Surviving are children; Judy Girand of Gibsonburg, Robert (Nancy) Pressler of Fremont, Vicki (Norman) VanNess of Gibsonburg and Mary (Chris) Vandersluis of Fremont. Betty is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister; Lucille Schumaker of Gibsonburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister; Juanita Gerwin and brother; Raymond Ottney. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2005 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 1-5 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday September 6, 2005 at St. Michaels Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Fr. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church, St. Jude Research Foundation, or to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
