Patricia Pat Burkett, 60, of Gibsonburg died on Thursday evening, January 17, 2008 in St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born on October 13, 1947 in Fremont to the now deceased Earl and Marie (Reed) Hall. Pat attended Fremont Ross High, worked with the Job Corps then continued her education by attending Terra Community College in Fremont. She married Kennard Burkett on November 30, 1967 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hessville. Together, they were known as the clowns Sunshine and Boo-Boo, appearing at local parade events and hospitals and nursing homes. Kennard died on July 11, 1994. Following his death, Pat worked as a private home health caregiver and at the Fremont Speedway during the races, officially retiring on her birthday in 2007. She enjoyed listening to music and crocheting. Pat was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Elmore. Surviving are children, Kenneth (Teresa) Burkett of Gibsonburg, Kathy (Shane) McClenathan of Green Springs, 6 granddaughters and long time companion Joe Bellner of Elmore. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Daniel Hall. Visitation will be on Monday, January 21st from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Fritz Merkes officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the family.
