Geraldine L. Aldrich

Geraldine L. Aldrich, 74 of Fremont, went to join her daughter, Judy M. Bentley who died in February. Geraldine died on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Parkview Care Center. She was born on January 3, 1932 in Lake Park, Iowa to the now deceased Charles and Marie (Nattress) Deatherage. Geraldine graduated from Webster City H.S. in 1949 and the Iowa Lutheran School of Nursing in Des Moines, IA in 1953 with a Registered Nurse Degree. She worked as a nurse for a total of 54 years including the Fremont Memorial Hospital, Community Health Center and Willard Migrant Clinic. She performed insurance physicals and home health care throughout Northwest Ohio, retiring April 28, 2006. On October 3, 1980 she married George Aldrich and he survives. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Fremont, Sunday Adult Bible Study, Church Council, Priscilla Circle, Officer of the Women of the Church, Altar Guild of the church, and a member of the Dorcas Circle where she made quilts for the elderly. Geraldine was a member of SCRAP and was also involved in the Lutheran Memorial Camp. Surviving are children, Dorothy (Lemmon) Bookman of Perrysburg, Jeff (Susan) Lemmon of Clyde; stepchildren, Samuel (Diane) and Melvin both of Fostoria, Steve Aldrich and Evelyn (Steve) Flahiff both of Fremont, son-in-law Craig Bentley of Clyde; 7 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren & 6 step great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Barbara) Deatherage of MN and Michael (Kim) Deatherage of IL. Preceding her in death are her parents, daughter; Judy brother; John and an infant sister; Annabelle. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church where there will be an hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Stephen Siebel officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Memorial Camp or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
