Calvin Lee Carnicom 81, of Helena, died Thursday afternoon at his residence. He was born in Fremont to Clyde Calvin and Cora (Aldrich) Carnicom on November 17, 1923. Calvin attended Gibsonburg schools. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army in Europe under General George S. Patton. On August 18, 1946 he married Louise Miller and she survives. Calvin was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post in Gibsonburg and Helena Community Volunteer Fire Department. He worked for Modern Construction Co. and Helena Lumber until retiring in 1981.
Surviving are sons Allan Lee Carnicom of Indianapolis, IN and John Miller Carnicom, Gibsonburg, two grandchildren and his brother Norman L. Carnicom. Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother Richard Carnicom.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 17 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Blair Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Metzgar Cemetery with military rites.
