Eleanor (Bakies) Carnicom

April 11, 1927 — April 1, 2005

Eleanor (Bakies) Carnicom, 77, of Gibsonburg passed to eternal life following a short illness on Friday afternoon, April 1 at the Toledo Hospital.

She was born on April 11, 1927 in Carey, OH to Edward and Cornelia (Seifker) Bakies and graduated with her Carey High School class.

Ellie was the wife on Norman Carnicom for 51 years as they were married on December 7, 1953 in Carey. He survives in Gibsonburg.

A homemaker, Ellie loved and enjoyed her family and had interests in volleyball, bowling, crafts, Bunco and gardening.

She is the mother of six children: Pam (Lee) Winkle of Fremont, Den (Karen) of Gibsonburg, Barb (Tim) Sammet of Carey, Shirley (Tim) Reno of Helena, David (Chandra) of Helena and Doug (Heather) of Gibsonburg; grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of six great grandsons. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth (Cheryl) Bakies of Findlay and sister, Agnes (the late, Bill) Ritter of Carey. Ellie will be greatly missed by all her family and close friends.

Her brothers, Robert, Edward, Harold and Leonard Bakies precede her in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 12:00 p.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Gibsonburg where visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, 7-9 p.m. and for two hours prior to the service on Wednesday. Her son-in-law, Lee Winkle will officiate.

Burial will be at Metzgar Cemetery in Helena, OH.
