William Bill J. Ansted, 61 of Lindsey, died on Sunday, June 8, 2008 in Fremont. He was born on July 19, 1946 in Fremont to the now deceased John and Alice (Mauch) Ansted. Bill was a 1964 graduate of Harris-Elmore School and The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Food Science in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. Bill was a farmer and worked in the design lab at Green Bay Packaging. On October 28, 1972 he married Barbara Steele in Maumee and she survives. Bill was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg. He loved being creative at his job, flying, campaigning for his wife, and ballroom dancing. Bill also enjoyed boating, spending time with his family, history, and singing in the choir. He also loved to tell jokes. Bill was a man of his word and was just recently elected the First Vice-president of Church Council. He had a very strong faith in God. Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, Andrew AJ Ansted of Lindsey; sister, Carolyn (Kenneth) Neeb of Elmore and brother, Roger (Terri) Ansted of Richmond, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Allison Ansted. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service. Pastor Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Harris-Elmore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Zion Lutheran Church or to the Allison Ansted Scholarship Memorial Fund c/o 5/3 Bank.
