Richard H. Dick Chamberlain, 76 of Fremont, died on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Valleyview Health Care Center. He was born on October 10, 1935 in Sandusky, OH and raised by Carl and Luna (Meyer) Widman. Dick was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph High School. He served in the National Guard during peacetime. Dick was a farmer and also a driver/salesman for Wonder Bread, retiring in 1994. On January 28, 1961 he married Lucille Burgener in Bement, IL and she survives. Dick was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Booster Club, the Moose Lodge, Eagles and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children: David (Christine) of Columbus, Sharon (Michael) Malczewski of Toledo, Gary (Rose) of Vickery, Michael (Didi) and Stephen (Judy) both of Fremont; six grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Miller of Fremont. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Feyjak.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
