Thomas W. Ashleman, 60 passed away at home on Thursday, June 5, 2008. He was born on February 3, 1948 in Columbus, OH to the now deceased William E. and Mary Pauline (McNeal) Ashleman. Thomas was a 1966 graduate of Upper Arlington High School; he received his Bachelors Degree in Business from Franklin University and a Masters Degree in Business from Xavier University. He was the Loss Prevention/Safety Coordinator for the Huron County Commissioners, retiring December 2007. Tom enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing and sports cars. He was an active member of AA for 18 yrs. and the Sierra Club. Tom was a kind gentleman and scholar, a friend to all and stranger to none.
Surviving are daughters, Lori (Richard) Larrimer of Bexley and Maryann Ashleman of Columbus; granddaughter, Jane Larrimer; and beloved special friend, Cheryl A. Stroempl of Fremont; former wife, Jennifer Teachnor Gaffey of Dublin, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 9th from 12-2 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. with Scott Kirsch officiating.
His cremated remains will be scattered in the lake he loved.
Memorials may be made to the Sierra Club, Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to a charity of the Donors Choice.
