Carter Steele Clark

Carter S. Clark, 83, of Medina, OH, formerly of Gibsonburg, OH, died on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Western Reserve Masonic Community. He was born on October 26, 1924 in Detroit, MI to the now deceased Theodore Eugene and Ellen Elizabeth (Steele) Clark. Carter was a graduate of Fostoria High School and had attended the University of Toledo. He was a US Navy Veteran. On August 10, 1946 he married Marjorie Burke in Lorain, Ohio and she survives in Medina. Carter was Vice President of Atlas Industries, Gibsonburg until his retirement. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the Gibsonburg American Legion and the US Chess Federation. In addition to his wife, survivors include children, Bill (Rita) of Cincinnati, Elizabeth (Tom) Fragasse of New Philadelphia, OH and Patty (Ron) Console of Cleveland Heights, OH; grandchildren, David (Shannon) Clark, Melissa (Jeremy) Klotz, Michael Fragasse, Donna Fragasse (deceased), Matthew and Lena Console; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Isabelle, Rebecca, Zoe and Maya; and a brother, Arthur Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Theodore and Gaylord; and a sister, Shirley Warner.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. The family will receive friends and family at the Faith United Methodist Church where a luncheon will be held following the graveside service. A memorial service will be held in Medina at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, Gibsonburg, OH or the Birchard Public Library, Fremont, OH.
