S Blair Claycomb

S. Blair Pete Claycomb, 81, previously of Helena, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Countryside Continuing Care, Fremont. He was born on October 28, 1926 in Green Springs, OH to the now deceased S. Lloyd and Mayme E. (Carn) Claycomb. Blair was a 1944 graduate of Jackson-Burgoon High School. In 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Blair was a supervisor for over 40 years at the former Singer Controls/Eaton Corporation. On October 24, 1959, he married Constance Matthews in Helena and she survives. Blair was a member of the Masons #575 in Gibsonburg.

Also surviving are his children, Richard L. (Linda) of Fremont, Kim A. (Todd) McRoberts of Strongsville; four grandchildren, John (Erica) Matney, Jason (Natalie) Matney, Clay McRoberts and Taylor McRoberts; three great-grandchildren, Fiona, Isabella and Miles Matney; brother, Merle L. (Monica) of Fremont; sister-in-law, Hilda Claycomb and a niece, Susan E. (Ken) Rexroad both of Maryland. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George C. Claycomb.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 24th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont with a Masonic Ceremony being held at 7 p.m. Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Metzgar Cemetery with military rites.
