Reverend Ralph Keith Clink

Reverend Ralph Keith Clink, 85, of Gibsonburg, died on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Otterbein Portage Valley in Pemberville. He was the former Pastor of the Chruch of Christ in Custar, and Rudolph Christian Church where he was awarded Minister Emeritus. He also served as Pastor for Mount Zion Church in Portage and Windsor Lane Nursing Home after retiring as chaplain at the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Home in Sandusky. Reverend Clink also served as Chaplain for the Gibsonburg Legion, Disabled Veterans Association, District 5 of Sandusky County, and the 517th Paratroopers.

Reverend Clink proudly served in the United States Army from 1943-1945 and was a World War II veteran. He was honored with two Purple Hearts, a Good Conduct Medal, a Bronze Star, six Battle Stars, and a Rifle Medal.

He was born June 2, 1923, in Elmore, Ohio to Ralph and Lawrencia (Orth) Clink, who precede him in death. Reverend Clink graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1941 and married Alice (Wilka) Clink in 1947. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Joyce (Clink) Bower of Gibsonburg, James (Patricia) Clink of Bartlett, IL, and Jerald (Barbara) Clink of Custar; six grandchildren Dana (Tamara) Bower of Holland, Jason (Nina) Bower of Bowling Green, Candace (Joe) Corrigan of Wadsworth, Whitney (Bill) Webster of Terre Haute, IN, Brianne Clink of Cincinnati, and Amanda Clink of Custar; one great grandson, Brock Bower of Holland; two brothers, Ned Clink of Pemberville, and Larry Clink of Morgan Hill, CA; one sister, Jane (Lee) Garling of Gibsonburg. His brother, Glenn Clink, preceded Reverend Clink in death.

Visitation will be held at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home, 319 W. Madison St, Gibsonburg on Sunday, November 23 from 1-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Elder Dave Adams of Rudolph Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion or Rudolph Christian Church.
