Charles James Conrad, 58, of Gibsonburg died Friday morning at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon. He was born Dec. 19, 1946 in Fremont, the son of Charles E. and Evelyn F. Halfhill Conrad. Mr. Conrad worked for Honeywell in Fostoria for 32 years, retiring in 2000. He served with the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. Charles was a life member of the American Legion, Pemberville and its Calf Club, the Fremont Eagles Aerie No. 712, VFW Post 2947, DAV of Findlay and the UAW. He was a 1965 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. Charles leaves his mother of Helena; wife,Denise A. (Baker), whom he married Ded. 24, 1994 in Gibsonburg; two sons, Chad of Gibsonburg and Daniel (Sandra) of Bowling Green; step-son Greg (Jennifer) Spoores of Bradner; three sisters, Beverly (Tom) Ayers, of Helena, Margaret, of Florida and Donna, of Helena; and five grandchildren, Brittany, Jenalyne, Jarett, Cade and Evan. Besides his father, two brothers John and Donald preceded him in death. Visitation: 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, Millersville with the Rev. Omer Rethinger officiating. Burial: West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg with military services provided with the Pemberville American Legion. Memorials: Donor's Choice.
