Opal Belcher

Opal Belcher, 89, of Fremont, went to be with the lord late Monday, March 6, 2006 afternoon at home. She was born on January 8, 1917 in Pike County, KY to the now-deceased Will and Leattia (Slone) Elswick. On January 12, 1934 she married Roy Belcher and he died in 1994. Opal was a former a member of the Fremont Baptist Temple. Opal was a wonderful wife, mother and mamaw. She is survived by children, Charles (Anita) Belcher of Lexington, KY, Gary (Carol) Belcher, Joyce (Fred) Floriana, Sandra (Dennis) McClure all of Fremont and Royetta (Doug) Floriana of Oak Harbor; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brothers Crawford Elswick of North Bergen, NJ and Oliver Elswick of Fremont. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Ruey and Corbit, sisters, Gladys Shortridge, Clara Yates and Clarisa Moore. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 9, 2006 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or the American Diabetes Association in Opals name
